Framework Connects: Tenant Q&A with Megan McAvoy
The first in our series of Q&A’s starts with Megan McAvoy from Morgan Hunt. Thanks for your time, Megan! Morgan Hunt recently moved into Studio 4 here at Framework.
Can you describe your role within the company and what a typical day looks like for you?
My role is Business Manager within Morgan Hunt. Personally, I recruit for Procurement roles within the Public Sector. I also oversee the management of our Corporate Services division. A typical day for me includes speaking to candidates about live roles, business development calls with new/potential clients, meetings with clients and catching up with the team about their day.
Could you provide an overview of what your company does?
Morgan Hunt is a multi-award-winning recruitment agency with over 150 consultants across London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol and Glasgow. We provide specialist recruitment services to over 2,000 clients. Founded in 1994, we’ve become renowned for connecting talented candidates and brilliant organisations within the charity, education, finance, government, housing, professional services, property & construction, social care & health and technology sectors.
How does your company make a difference in the lives of clients and customers?
Morgan Hunt was founded by brothers Rupert and Stephen. Their family values have driven the business for over 25 years and continue to influence our approach to recruitment. Our core motivation is to provide people with purposeful opportunities and help organisations achieve their goals. We aim to inspire working lives by living our values, giving our best every day and truly caring about the needs of our customers.
Is there a particular achievement or project in your career that you’re especially proud of?
Having worked in the recruitment industry for the last 10 years there have been many highs and lows, but I can genuinely say navigating my recent career as working mum of 2 toddlers is one of my biggest achievements. I joined Morgan Hunt last year following my second period of maternity to take on a new sector/division that I wasn’t completely familiar with and starting from scratch isn’t always easy in this industry, without the added pressure of juggling a family, but I feel very proud of what I have achieved so far and hopefully will continue to do so.
What do you enjoy about working here at Framework?
The office is very central which is ideal, and it is very spacious and modern.
Could you share an interesting hobby or passion that you pursue outside of work?
As I mentioned before I have two young children so truthfully right now mostly my hobbies are running about mad after them & then drinking wine and watching countless seasons on Netflix when they are in bed! I do also enjoy working out and I am partial to a boxing class so best not to mess with me…
Which three famous people, living or dead, would you invite to dinner and why?
Walt Disney – the legend behind some of my favourite movies, Britney Spears – because who wouldn’t like to hear her life story? & Princess Diana – as there is something so fascinating about her.
And finally, can you tell us an interesting fact about yourself that people might not know already?!
I have a degree in Media and Communication as I once wanted to be a journalist or TV presenter – and I did work experience with both STV in the sports department & the BBC as an autocue on the news. I also have 7 (hidden) tattoos!
